In the future, I’ll be writing more about the San Francisco club music scene in the 1970’s, and starting the record labels DUMB RECORDS and nTH DEGREE.
In the meantime, in 2009 I gave my first interview in over 30 years about my days in this scene, and music blogger JOE STUMBLE was the absolute best guy to do it with.
HERE is the Original Novak Interview by Joe Stumble.
Sadly, just a few weeks ago, Joe wrote his last post (oh, he himself is fine, by the way):
“RIP Last Days of Man on Earth
Last Days of Man on Earth was a music blog run by Joe Stumble between 20th of February, 2006 and 1st of April, 2011. It now exists as an online archive and testament to awesomeness.”
He told me that he will keep his site “forever” as an archive (he has written an incredible amount of cool stuff about pretty much every crazy band in the world), but he probably will be removing all the music files he has digitized over the years.
To give them a new home, Joe’s mp3’s of ALL OF THE DUMB RECORDS are below:
All NOVAK releases are available (including artwork) to download here.
SURVIVORS and IXNA releases (including artwork) are available to download here.
All BOB releases are available (including artwork) to download here.
Also, with much of Joe’s help, the original piece, except for the comments, has been recreated here on thenovakproject.
